Hands-on Training for Microsoft Office, InDesign, Photoshop, and more. Since every person has their own preferred learning style, we offer several options for training which are free and available to all employees of UNL Business & Finance departments. You will learn to work BETTER, work FASTER, and work SMARTER with the applications you use every day.

WORKSHOPS & WEBINARS
Training is available and free of charge to all departments of UNL Business & Finance. The schedule is available through the UNL Training Registration at training.unl.edu
CUSTOMIZED

Microsoft IT Academy

The Microsoft IT Academy Program is a subscription-based membership that includes curriculum, online learning, certification readiness, and more, focused on employability and life-long learning. 

  1. Go to http://go.unl.edu/itacademy.
  2. Enter the Access Code for the learning you need. Access codes are available in the Microsoft IT Academy organization in Blackboard.

  3. Log in with your Office 365 account.
To enroll in a My.UNL organization
  1. Go to my.unl.edu and log in with your username and password.
  2. Click the Courses & Organizations tab at the top of the page.
  3. Search for a key word (e.g. Microsoft) in the Organization Search box on the bottom-right, and then click OK.
  4. Click the drop-down menu next to the organization name and then click Enroll.
  5. On the confirmation page, click Submit and then OK.

Virtual Training Company (VTC) Online Tutorials

Virtual Training Company (VTC) gives you access to over 960 software and programming tutorials online. A username and password is required and available in the VTC organization in Blackboard. 

To verify your current status, the password is changed at the beginning of each semester (three times per year). You must be a member of the VTC organization in My.UNL (Blackboard) to get the new password when it changes.

  1. Go to my.unl.edu and log in with your username and password.
  2. Click the Courses & Organizations tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the VTC: VTC Online Computer Software Tutorials organization for the current username and password.
To enroll in a My.UNL organization
  1. Go to my.unl.edu and log in with your username and password.
  2. Click the Courses & Organizations tab at the top of the page.
  3. Search for a key word (e.g. VTC) in the Organization Search box on the bottom-right, and then click OK.
  4. Click the drop-down menu next to the organization name and then click Enroll.
  5. On the confirmation page, click Submit and then OK.

User Group Organizations in My.UNL

My.UNL User Groups are where you can download the handouts from training sessions. You also have access to many great Web sites with even more help, tips and tricks. To find a user group, see the To enroll in a My.UNL organization below.

User groups are available for Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word, as well as Adobe Acrobat, Connect, inDesign, Photoshop.

To enroll in a My.UNL organization
  1. Go to my.unl.edu and log in with your username and password.
  2. Click the Courses & Organizations tab at the top of the page.
  3. Search for a key word (e.g. VTC) in the Organization Search box on the bottom-right, and then click OK.
  4. Click the drop-down menu next to the organization name and then click Enroll.
  5. On the confirmation page, click Submit and then OK.
