Hands-on Training for Microsoft Office, InDesign, Photoshop, and more. Since every person has their own preferred learning style, we offer several options for training which are free and available to all employees of UNL Business & Finance departments. You will learn to work BETTER, work FASTER, and work SMARTER with the applications you use every day.

WORKSHOPS & WEBINARS

Learn on demand with these resources

Virtual Training Company (VTC)

You can access over 1,000 software and programming titles on any computer, on or off campus, with a username and password 24/7/365. To have access to the username and password, you must be a member of the VTC organization in My.UNL (Canvas or Blackboard). You will also be notified when the password changes.

  1. Go to my.unl.edu and click the UNL "N" logo under the Canvas heading to log in. 
  2. You will find the organization on your Dashboard
  3. Click on the VTC: VTC Online Computer Software Tutorials organization for the current username and password.
Service is limited to 10-concurrent licenses, so if you receive a message you are unable to log in, please try again later.
To enroll in the Canvas organization

Go to https://canvas.unl.edu/enroll/689HDC and click the red Enroll in Course button on the upper right corner of the page. You'll need to log in with your My.UNL credentials to access.

Lynda.com and Lincoln City Libraries

Any person with a Lincoln City Libraries card has free access to Lynda.com. You must sign in through the library's site with your library card number and PIN to get started. You can then set up your personalized account to manage your playlists and progress through the tutorials. You can learn the latest software, creative, or business skills. You can watch bite-size tutorials for immediate problem solving or take comprehensive courses from start to finish. 

What is Lynda.com? Lynda.com provides a vast online library of instructional videos covering the latest software, creative, and business skills. Taught by accomplished teachers and recognized industry experts, Lynda.com is a high-quality resource for employees looking to develop skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, project management, communication, and a wide range of other topics.

Microsoft E-Learning

As part of a new offering from Microsoft, UNL employees are eligible to access E-Learning courses online at Microsoft.com. These courses are meant to help you keep up-to-date with the latest major software releases.

First time users

ACTIVATE MY ELEARNING ACCOUNT
  1. Input the access code: IWO32A7E48 (The code is case-sensitive.)
  2. You'll be prompted to sign in using a valid Windows Liveā„¢ ID. This is the user name and password you use to access your Office 365 account. Click to sign in to using your Office 365 account.
  3. You'll be redirected and asked to enter your Office 365 email. When you go to enter your password, you'll be asked to click this is your Work or School account.
  4. Again, you'll be redirected to the familiar UNL sign in. Use your full Office 365 email and password, then click the SIGN IN button.
  5. Click the Catalog link in the green bar at the top to see list of available courses.
  6. Click a course title to launch the offering. You have 12 months from the time of launch to finish that course. 

Returning users

LOGIN TO MY ELEARNING ACCOUNT
  1. Click the Sign In button.
  2. Click to sign in to using your Office 365 account.
  3. You'll be redirected and asked to enter your Office 365 email. When you go to enter your password, you'll be asked to click this is your Work or School account.
  4. Again, you'll be redirected to the familiar UNL sign in. Use your full Office 365 email and password, then click the SIGN IN button.
  5. Use the My courses section to resume a previous course, or click the Catalog link in the green bar to view and search for available courses.
  6. Begin your E-Learning course.
