Since every person has their own preferred learning style, we offer several options for training which are free and available to all employees of UNL Business & Finance departments. You will learn to work BETTER, work FASTER, and work SMARTER with the applications you use every day.

CLASSROOM

Hands-on classroom training is available (and free) to all departments of UNL Business & Finance. The current schedule is packed with workshops designed to increase your productivity.

Login: Use the "alias" of your email address in lowercase without the "@unl.edu" part [i.e. rmaltas2]
Password: Your NU ID number found on your NCard; the NU ID is the 8-digit number found in the lower-left portion of your NCard above the barcode. It's possible that your password is still your Social Security Number (no dashes or spaces).

Web-based Training for Microsoft Office XP
As part of the Microsoft Software Assurance program under the University-wide Microsoft Campus Agreement, UNL students and personnel have access to free Web-based training — the Microsoft eLearning Library (MeLL). Information Services has licensed and installed locally four modules for Office XP.

Virtual Training Company
ITG has contracted with Virtual Training Company (VTC), an online tutorial company, to provide easy access to over 300 software and programming tutorials. These tutorials are available for anyone at UNL and are free of charge.

Microsoft Office Online audio training for specific tasks in any Microsoft Office program.

End-User Self Help Documents for Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and more. Documents you can print and reference for help as needed as well as online tutorials.

Information Technology Training Resources from CIT. As a UNL faculty or staff member you have access to a variety of training offerings provided by IANR Communications and Information Technology and other sources.

Information Technology Services at CBA offers training in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Blackboard, and Lotus Notes. Classes are open to all UNL faculty, staff and students. For non-CBA faculty and staff, and for all students, the cost is $30 per class, with the exception of Blackboard and Lotus Notes, which are free. Classes are approximately 3-hours in length and is limited to no more than 11 students per class.

Instructor-led training from commercial and other vendors on Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, CorelDRAW, InDesign, Photoshop, Fireworks, and more.
